The National Stratigraphic Commission held a pre-Precambrian stratigraphic classification naming conference on July 22-24, 1982 in Beijing, focusing on the meaning and scope of use of the “Sinian System.” This meeting is an important meeting held by the National Stratigraphy Commission to discuss issues in stratigraphy in China. The meeting was chaired by Comrade Wu Heng, director of the National Formation Commission, and delivered an opening speech.
