Drainage well plugging is common in the Netherlands. It is estimated that 50% to 70% of production wells in waterworks have been blocked. This phenomenon exists in other countries such as India, Egypt, Nigeria, Algeria, Tunisia and Sweden. Not only did the public wells of the urban residents have blockages, but also wells, industrial and agricultural wells were blocked. In order to change this situation, the Test and Exploration Institute of the Dutch Waterworks studied the dredge problem. They have studied and summarized various types of blockages and the most effective methods of dredging and their costs. This is an introduction. Most of the water supply wells in the Netherlands are vertical shafts.
