查尔斯·狄更斯是英国维多利亚时期最著名的小说家,也是最多产的现实主义作家,他的多部小说广为流传,成为世界文学毋庸置疑的经典,我国对其作品进行研究的文章和著作枚不胜举,但这些研究多集中于其长篇小说,对其短篇小说的研究关注甚少,本文将以其短篇小说《信号员》为例,从小说背景、情节发展、人物心理特征和主题思想方面探析作品中所体现的哥特式因素。
Charles Dickens is the most famous novelist in Victorian England and the most prolific realist writer. Many of his novels have been widely circulated and become the unquestionable classics of world literature. There are many articles and writings on our work in our country However, most of these researches focus on their novels, and they pay little attention to the research of their short stories. This essay will take the short story “Signer” as an example to analyze the novel background, plot development, the psychological characteristics and the theme of the novel Gothic elements embodied in the work.
