作为世界上最发达的工业化国家,美国拥有发达的农业和食物工业,但同时也存在惊人的食物浪费,一项被广泛援引的数据是,美国每年浪费食物960亿磅(约合4350万吨)。与此同时,美国农业部在2014年9月披露,美国还有约4000万人生活在食物匮乏中。有鉴于此,美国许多民间组织竭尽所能地致力于减少各环节的食物浪费,它们也因此被称为“剩食组织”。喂饱美国:剩食组织领头羊民间组织“喂饱美国”是美国最大的饥饿救济和食物援助组织,拥有一个包括200家食物银行在内的全国性网络。
As the most developed industrialized country in the world, the United States has developed agriculture and food industries, but there are also alarming food waste.
