Moving on to football now on the BBC and there has been plenty of activity in the transfer market in the last few hours with the window in Europe due to close at 22 hours GMT on Wednesday. The Werder Bremen captain Per Mertesacker and Fenerbahce's Brazilian leftback Andre Santos are on the verge of joining Arsenal, both have had medicals at the Premier League club while the South Korea striker Park ChuYoung completed his move to Arsenal from Monaco on Tuesday. The German football expert Raphael Honigstein says Mertesacker who measures 198m tall should improve the Gunners team．
“Mertesacker's very tall, he's not the greatest when it comes just to playing nice football. Slightly more oldfashioned centreback, perhaps exactly the sort of player that Arsenal has been missing, certainly I think if they play against the slightly more direct teams in the Premier League, they'll really be helped with someone like that who'll just tower over the rest of his fellow defenders. And he's very very good when it comes to reading the game. An allround good guy off the pitch as well, a real leader, real character and I think they got a very very solid guy who'll definitely be in the improvement of what they've had so far.”
