清代,经济并不发达的湘西崛起了一批规模不小的商业市镇,成为湘西历史上一道独特而亮丽的风景。原因主要表现为山区开发促进了整个湘西经济的发展,为市镇的崛起奠定了经济基础;大量外来移民为其发展提供了丰富的、具有较高素质的劳动力资源;交通的发展为商品生产和流通提供了条件;教育的进步为其兴盛提供了智力支持。四种因素相互作用、相互影响,共同促进了湘西商业市镇的发展与繁荣。
In the Qing Dynasty, the undeveloped economy in western Hunan developed a large number of commercial towns and became a unique and beautiful scenery in the history of western Hunan.
