The diagnostic instruments and diagnostic devices produced by the Russian industrial sector are introduced. These instruments and devices can be recommended to locomotive maintenance personnel who routinely repair and maintain electrical locomotives in accordance with the regulations of the Russian Ministry of Communications. These devices were developed and selected by experts from the Electrification Division Science and Engineering Center of All-Russia Institute of Railway Transportation. The main technical diagnosis tasks that are based on high-precision instruments are: To check the workability of the entire equipment and its components with the specified credibility during the operation; Determine the actual requirements of a process during the technical maintenance. In routine repairs, defects can be identified by in-depth exploration to ensure the location, type and causes of defects, and the quality of repairs can be checked. Information about the technical status of the relevant components and units can be collected, processed and analyzed when the residual life is predicted. Use, the amount of repair work required. If the quality mark does not provide a credible assessment of the state of the art conclusion, then the mechanic can use the measuring device and instrument selectively at his or her discretion. For routine repairs, the diagnostic device must be used according to the technology card of the selected device category.
