延安自然科学院,开创了中国共产党领导高等自然科学教育与研究的先河,走出了一条中国共产党兴办高等科学技术教育与研究的道路,从而在中国近、现代自然科学技术发展史上占有光辉的一页。今天,了解中国共产党人在抗日战争时期艰难困苦的环境条件下,致力科学技术教育与研究,学习和继承老一辈的无产阶级革命家、科学工作者开拓、创新、积极、探索、勇于进取的科学精神和崇高理想,对促进我国现代教育和科技事业的发展,不是毫无裨益的。
