This article discusses the method of estimating seismic wavelet from seismic records using the homomorphism theory. The specific practice is to take a relatively long recording segment with relatively stable wavelet in one (or several) seismograms and to take several shorter hour-window segments at different positions in the segment (or segments) Multiplied by the appropriate window function, and then take the arithmetic average of its logarithmic spectrum as the logarithmic spectrum of seismic wavelet, the estimated value of seismic wavelet through the inverse process of the homomorphism system. Experiments on synthetic records and some actual seismograms show that this method is of practical value within a certain range of accuracy.
