沈阳说她的大部分时间都在自己的小屋中度过,厨房、浴室、健身房、卧室……是她消磨时间的地方;隐私空间其实是她的个人心理空间和生活经验的集合体,是她创作的原动力;在那里面知觉和想象力可以肆无忌惮地畅游、发挥,进而把她内心深处的东西调动起来。其实,逃避在这个她熟悉的隐蔽空间里,原因归咎于当代社会中女性选择的无奈。在这个男性主导的社会中,女性面对的现实更多的时候是处于被动的和不能主动控制的情况;沈阳恰恰又是个控制欲望很强的人,在她的图像世界里她觉得自己可以控制一切了,从灯光到道具……一切的一切她都可以控制。
