甲(月朁)类试剂是含有-N=N-C=N-NH-结构的一类化合物的总称。从其构造式来看,应该存在着如下两种不同情况:如果R与R＂基为不同基团时,每一种单独的甲(月朁)化合物便可能有两个不同的名称,必须注意区别。甲(月朁)类试剂能与许多金属离子形成稳定的络合物,特别是在R、R＇和R＂上引入不同的取代基时,化合物的分析特性亦将有所变化。甲(月朁)类试剂的金属络合物常常具有较深的颜色,因而这类化合物通常被建议作为金属离子的显色剂使用。
