In the heat treatment of metal alloys, quenching is a very important part. It is usually done by placing the work piece in a vaporizable liquid (eg water, aqueous solution or mineral oil). Another method that can be used is to spray the workpiece with liquid. The advanced nature of the latter lies in its ability to be computer-controlled and to obtain a wide variety of cooling methods that have not been possible to date.
