1979年12月证实全球消灭天花委员会召开的最后一次会议上作出了以下结论:1.全世界已经消灭天花。2.地方性天花再现是没有证据的。自从1977年世界上最后1例天花发生在索马里,已经过去26个月了,从那时起,在最后发生地方性天花的国家里,既未进行特殊的监测活动,又未对可疑病例及世界上各处的谣传进行调查。在1978年全球委员会为了指导全球组成了专门独立机构,在世界卫生组织的执行委员会要求下详定全球根除天花的成功。
In December 1979, it was confirmed at the last meeting of the Global Eradication Smallpox Committee that: 1. The world has eliminated smallpox. 2. There is no evidence for the reproduction of localized smallpox. It has been 26 months since the last case of smallpox in the world took place in Somalia in 1977. Since then, there have been no special surveillance activities, no cases of suspicious cases and no Rumors were investigated everywhere. In 1978, the Global Commission established a dedicated independent agency to guide the global success of the eradication of smallpox under the requirements of the World Health Organization’s Executive Committee.
