我国的女子在封建社会长期受到礼法制度的束缚,很少有受教育的权利。随着教会女学的出现,在客观上促使了中国女子教育的发展。女子教育还受到很多方面的限制而发展缓慢,但它却是形成妇女独立人格、开展妇女解放运动的开端。
