This article outlines the current state of the U.S. medical system and its direction of reform. The United States does not have a universal insurance system. Nearly one in five people do not have medical insurance, but medical expenses are extremely high, accounting for about 40% of GDP, and they increase by more than 10% annually. Most of the expenses were spent on advanced medical and specialist medical care, while general medical conditions such as prevention and primary health care deteriorated, and the national health level was not high. The purpose of its reform is to improve medical efficiency and reduce costs. The basic policy of reform is to manage competition and universalize the management of the medical system.
