1999年6月,光山县在县城北新修一条环城公路,在施工取土时发现古墓葬,经过清理,共有墓葬9座。出土器物有陶器、木漆器等,以陶器为主,器形有鼎、罐、盘、豆、壶、杯等,从器物的造形、纹饰、组合形式结合墓葬形制,判断时代为战国中、晚期,这批墓葬的发掘为研究豫南地区楚文化提供了宝贵的实物资料。
In June 1999, Guangshan County newly built a ring road in the north of the county. During the construction of the earth, an ancient tombs were found. After cleaning, there were 9 tombs. Unearthed objects are pottery, wood lacquerware and so on. The main objects are pottery. There are three types of pottery, pots, plates, beans, jugs and cups. The shape, decoration and combination form of the objects are combined with the shape of the tomb. The excavations of these tombs provide valuable physical data for the study of Chu culture in southern Henan.
