苏联铁路客货车辆目前采用的新车号,比原用车号含有更多的信息。它包括各型客货车辆的一些基本特征,因而能够比较确切地知道列车的重量和长度等。由于在新车号中使用了第八位数字符号(检查符号),就可以检查车号的读数及其在原始运送票据中的准确性。这有助于提高运输过程自动控制系统工作的可靠性。更重要的是,由于改变了字体和将其加大到250mm,可使车号读出的差错率减少一半。新车号的字体是由全苏技术美学科学研
The new car numbers currently used by Soviet railway passenger and cargo vehicles contain more information than the original car number. It includes some of the basic characteristics of various types of passenger and freight vehicles, which can more accurately know the train weight and length. Since the eighth digit symbol (check symbol) is used in the new car number, the car number’s reading and its accuracy in the original shipping ticket can be checked. This helps to improve the reliability of the automatic process control system during transport. More importantly, by changing the font and increasing it to 250mm, the error rate of car number reading can be reduced by half.
