汪延,1972年生于北京。1992年高中毕业后赴法国读书。1996年毕业于法国巴黎大学,获法学学士学位。1996年回国,创建四通利方公司国际网络部任部长。1996年6月,创办国内最早的商业中文网站之一利方在线。1999年到2001年6月,任新浪网中国区总经理。2001年6月,接替王志东出任新浪网总裁。2003年5月被任命为新浪首席执行官、董事兼总裁。2003年当选为“中国IT业影响力TOP100人物”。现任中国互联网协会互联网新闻信息服务工作委员会副主任委员、中华环保文化促进会常务理事职务、中国互联网协会第一届理事会副理事长、中国互联网协会副会长、中国软件行业协会常务理事、北京民营科技实业家协会副会长等职。
