上海《立报》于1935年9月20日创刊,1937年11月24日停刊。该报是四开小型报。它根据不同特点、风格和要求分别办了三个副刊。其中有一个副刊《言林》,与《立报》同日创刊和终刊,由谢六逸主编。谢六逸是个副刊编辑名手。1981年《新文学史料》第三期上,登载曹聚仁的遗著《我与我的世界》中提及:“五四运动以后,副刊编辑名手,邵力子、孙伏园二先生而外,黎烈文、谢六逸二兄也为世人所推重,他们都是善于做拼盘的好厨子,富有战斗性,”在他的悉心努力下,《言林》在社会上享有卓著盛誉,颇为社会人士所赏识,所载文
