Electromechanical scale with strain gauge is an industrial measuring instrument for process automation. This article describes how the instrument itself converts measurement parameters into electrical signals that are not proportional to the amplitude (amplitude simulation) of the measured parameter but to the frequency (frequency simulation). Frequency analog signal is not affected by interference. The article clarifies the difference between frequency simulation and amplitude simulation, as well as the advantages of frequency simulation applied in electromechanical scales. There are also two methods for converting measurement parameters into analog signals: one is the frequency scaling method (ie, the principle of frequency-controlled load sensing conversion, also known as the FALCON principle); the other is the periodic proportional method (ie, voltage controlled triangular oscillation Principle, also known as VCTO principle), and attached with the measurement parameter map. FALCON principle long conversion time and high precision; VCTO principle of the conversion time is short but low accuracy.
