With the improvement of computer desktop processing capabilities and the phenomenal growth of networking needs among users, a new generation of local area network (LAN) technology has been formed. In order to meet the data transfer rate of growth needs, 100 ohm unshielded symmetrical twisted pair and fiber optic cable is the ideal choice for wiring. The LAN technologies discussed in this article are 1000 / 100BASE-T, 100VG-AnyLAN, FDDI and ATM. Technical physical layer wiring requirements, the focus of 100 ohms unshielded twisted pair wiring.
