社会主义的改革者们决心要在社会主义公有制的基础之上建立市场经济,即建立社会主义市场经济。这是一项前无古人的事业,也是一个世纪性的挑战。对于建立社会主义市场经济,对于公有制与市场经济结合的可能,国内外的许多人都表示怀疑,有些人笃信只有私有制才能与市场经济相结合。因此,对于社会主义市场经济这个世纪性挑战的回答,对于这项前无古人的伟大事业的探索,必将给经济科学的发展以新的推动。在中国首先实现公有制与市场经济的历史性结合,必将给人类社会的进步树立起一座新的路标,带来一种新的发展动力,并将给那些致力于追求一种既有较高的社会公平,又有较高的效率的经济体制的人们以新的鼓舞和信心。
Socialist reformers are determined to establish a market economy on the basis of socialist public ownership, that is, to establish a socialist market economy. This is an unprecedented cause and a century-old challenge. Many people at home and abroad have expressed doubts about the possibility of establishing a socialist market economy and of combining public ownership with a market economy. Some believe that only private ownership can be combined with a market economy. Therefore, in answering the century-old challenge of the socialist market economy, the exploration of this unprecedented cause must surely give new impetus to the development of economic science. To achieve the historic combination of public ownership and market economy in China will surely set a new signpost for the progress of human society and bring about a new impetus for development and will give those who are committed to pursuing a higher Socially fair, and more efficient economic system of people with new inspiration and confidence.
