For more than two months, seeing and seeing in Sandu and seeing and hearing have given me a tentative understanding of this “distant place that I have never met.” Three are indeed poor, poor to accommodate the capital of us unimaginable; but all three are full of poetry, where vegetation, customs, all implied enthusiasm, vitality and tenacity.
