郑家是新竹的望族,和台北板桥的林家、台中雾峰的林家并称。郑氏家族,本质上既不是土豪,也并无雄厚的社会经济基础,是靠经商和功名,同时并进,而成为社会上的望族。此与板桥林家、雾峰林家先由土豪、再发展成为士绅的途径,有所不同。
Zheng is a prominent family in Hsinchu and joins Lin’s home in Taipei’s Banqiao and Lin’s home in Mifeng, Taichung.
