Between 2006 and 2011, the authors delved into some of the poorest regions in Brazil to investigate the impact of the Brazilian family-based pension scheme on the subjective growth experience and personality of beneficiaries. First, the author introduces the content of the Brazilian family allowance plan. Then, poor people’s voices can not be identified and reflected in statistics and quantitative studies, so the authors chose to investigate the subjective growth of the beneficiaries and replace the usual questionnaires with interviews. All interviewed women indicated that the family grant program has changed their lives and given them more freedom and autonomy, confirming the authors’ earlier hypothesis that a stable monetary income will promote personal growth and increase personal Autonomy and political participation.
