Even if an individual’s experience is not only a history of individual struggles, it can be reckoned with. Ding Wenjiang and his people, the past study focused more on their thoughts and expressions of the “minority” concept, or predecessors and their contacts with certain aspects. Even Mr. Hu Shih’s “Ding Wenjiang this man” and other articles, “one of the most European-Chinese” conclusion, still failed to fully analyze Ding’s spirit of governance of the world. Mr. Xu Fuguan once screamed in “the tragedy of a great scholar”: Democracy and freedom are not complete, scholar tragedies are inevitable, or Ding Wenjiang’s best portrayal of his short life.
