The hepatocytes isolated from Wistar strain rats were prepared using collagenase and incubated in Krebs-Henseleite bicarbonate buffer + 3% BSA + 10 mM lactic acid + 96 mg N/dl urea and incubated with licorice or astragalus at 37°C for 4 hours. At the time of methyl hydrazine (MG) production, 200 mg/dl creatinine was added and MG and mercaptosuccinic acid (GSA) were measured by HPLC. As a result, Glycyrrhizae and Astragalus membranaceus with a concentration of 100 μg/ml had no effect on the production of MG, but showed significant inhibitory effect on the production of GSA.
