Objective To investigate the effect of hypoxia on skin sclerosis in patients with systemic scleroderma (SSc). Methods The blood pressure and skin hardness scores of SSc patients were determined. The correlation between the two groups was analyzed by linear correlation. The effects of hypoxia (2.5% oxygen) on the proliferation of skin fibroblasts in vitro were determined. Results The partial pressure of oxygen in 30 patients with SSc was 6.38 ~ 12.06 kPa, with an average of (9.53 ± 1.93) kPa.
