石狮,历史上曾经代表中国改革开放一个时代的产物。她,如雨后春笋破土而出,生机勃勃、茁壮成长。而今,三十万的石狮人创造的GDP和财政均可与晋江(母体)相媲美,特别是城镇居民人均可支配收入16508元,农民人均纯收入突破1000美元,居全省首位。可谓后起之秀,后生可畏,后者居上。石狮综合实力跃居全国百强县(市)24位、连续八年保持福建省第二位。先后获得中国休闲服装名城、全国卫生先进市、全国体育先进市、全国文化先进市、全国科技先进市八连冠和全国双拥模范城二连冠等殊荣。石狮发展,来之不易,是历届领导艰辛工作的结果。石狮人民向往和谐社会。已创造出:展现和谐社会雏形,经济社会运行稳健,精神文明提供保证,建设现代人居环境,健全社会保障体系,强化执法机关职能。这是福建省和谐社会建设的标杆、榜样、楷模、典范。值得推崇,值得借鉴。
