《参考消息》从1957年3月1日改成报纸型并扩大发行以来,已走过了43个年头。几十年来,它以不同于公开报纸的独特报道内容和浓厚的参考特色,受到广大读者的欢迎和好评,一直是中国拥有众多读者的日报。 周恩来总理生前多次自豪地向外宾介绍《参考消息》报,称赞它是“世界上最好的报纸”。 在国内影响很大、在国外名气不小的《参考消息》报之所以能够出版并办得深受读者喜爱,首先要归功于毛泽东主席的积极倡议和他确立的独特办报方针。
