The integration of Latin America and Bush and the proposal of establishing the “Free Trade Area of the Americas” took place in different periods with different backgrounds and connotations. However, under the new world situation today, the two have become two models of economic integration that are mutually reinforcing and both differentiated and linked. I. Latin American Integration Made New Developments The Latin American integration movement that started in the early 1960s has experienced a period of vigorous development and stagnation of more than 10 years.
