金秋九月,桂花飘香。温州,迎来了荣膺“国际象棋之城”15周年纪念。15年前,当中国棋院院长陈祖德将“国际象棋之城”的铜匾交到时任温州市副市长陈莲莲手里时,温州成为中国唯一获此称号的城市,迄今亦是如此。15年斗转星移,温州的国际象棋依然蓬勃,一届届比赛成功举办,一代代棋手茁壮成长,一个个业余培训机构红红火火。温州,用实际行动,证明了自己无愧“棋城”这个称号。15年来,温州国际象棋人未敢懈怠,为这项风靡全球的智力运动孜孜努力。有人说温州人善商,而国际象棋的盛行,证明了温州人也善棋,善棋和善商一样,拥有的是精明和素养。更加引人注目的是,国际象棋在温州走出了自己的模式——教育为本,棋为载体。国际象棋在培养温州青少年的智力与素养上起到了独到的作用。
