The genesis of JADE hydrothermal massive sulfide deposits in the Okinawa Trough has always been of concern to geologists. In recent years, significant progress has been made in the study of mineralogy, chemistry and zoning of metallogenic elements and sources of ore-forming fluids. However, few geologists have studied the organic geochemistry of the JADE hydrothermal massive sulfide deposits. Rock-Eval analysis of JADE hydrothermal sulfide ores revealed that the total organic carbon (TOC) in the ore is low and the content of soluble organic matter is very low. Similarly, the seabed surface sediments in the Okinawa Trough also lack organic carbon, which may reflect the relatively small organic matter in the upper part of the water or the relatively high deposition rate of inorganic matter. GC-MS analysis showed that the distribution of saturated hydrocarbons is wide (C ~ (15) -C ~ (35)) and the carbon number of the main carbon peak is high.
