库车县是南疆粮棉重要产区之一,年平均温度11.8℃,作物生长期约180天,日照充足,农业生产条件优越。文化大革命以来,库车县广大贫下中农在县党委的领导下,积极开展科学实验活动,改革耕作制度,实行间作套种,取得了一定成绩。一九七一年,全县玉米间作大豆、棉花间作绿豆等六万余亩,在保证王米、棉花产量的情况下,多收了豆类,当年国家收购大豆六十余万斤,增加了社员收入,并提高了土壤肥力。一九七二年间作套种七万二千多亩,又取得了较好的收成。库车县的间作套种主要有以下几种方式:
