From an economic point of view, it explores the impact of Shanghai’s economic development on the joint struggle among Shanghai’s students, businessmen and workers in the May 4th Movement. It also explores the economic communication network formed between Shanghai and other regions in expanding the role of influence in the joint struggle. The extent of economic development in Shanghai plays a crucial role in the initial victory of the May Fourth Movement
