前言 APEC是亚太地区级别最高、影响最大的区域性经济合作组织之一。承办2001年APEC会议是我国在新世纪伊始的一次重大外交活动,它给我国在新世纪巩固和发展与APEC各成员的关系,加深与它们的经贸往来与合作及迎接中国“入世”提供了难得的历史机遇,承办此次会议,还将有力地推动我国的改革开放和经济建设向前发展,并使之成为我国向全世界展示改革开放、经济建设的巨大成就的一个重要窗口。
Foreword APEC is one of the regional economic cooperation organizations with the highest level and the greatest impact in the Asia Pacific region. The undertaking of the 2001 APEC Conference is a major diplomatic activity of our country at the beginning of the new century. It provides a rare opportunity for China to consolidate and develop its relations with APEC members in the new century, deepen its economic and trade exchanges and cooperation, and meet China’s accession to the WTO. The hosting of this meeting will also vigorously push forward the reform, opening up and economic development of our country and make it an important window for our country to show the world the great achievements of reform, opening up and economic construction.
