The fault sealing is the main factor that controls the distribution and occurrence of fault-block oilreservoir, so it is very important for studying the mechanism of fault sealing. On the basis of the analysisof fault sealing under different geological backgrounds, the difference of contact capillary force amonghanging wall, footwall and the filling of impervious substance in the fracture belt are main mechanisms offault sealing. And the corresponding relation between expulsion pressure of sealing bed and height of oilcolumn is further established.
