In 1989, the “National Mathematics Curriculum and Evaluation Standards” promulgated by the National Mathematical Teachers Association of the United States became the starting point for the reform of mathematics education in the United States in the 1990s. Five years later, mathematicians concerned with mathematics education reforms presented new insights (see [1] for details). Professor Wu Hsi-hee recommended three books by I.M. Gelfand et al.
