质量和重量是两个常用的物理量。但重量的物理概念常弄得含混不清。通常用它表示重力,是一力矢量;但有时又用它表示质量,又是一个标量;而重量在重力单位制中的计量单位的简称以及质量在国际单位制(SI制)中的计量单位,又都是kg(公斤)。这就使这两个物理量在使用上引起了很大的混乱,甚至有的书中的计算公式都带有原则性的错误。因此,有必要澄清这两个量的物理概念,对如何处理它们的计量单位问题加以讨论。
