腐霉素是由吸水链霉菌（Ｓｔｒｅｐｔｏｍｙｃｅｓｈｙｇｒｏｓｃｏｐｉｃｕｓ）ＨＳ－８６产生的聚醚类抗生素。经发酵、分离纯化后测定其理化性质、元素分析、红外光谱、核磁共振谱和质谱，认为它与ｃａｒｒｉｏｍｙｃｉｎ 同质。分子式为Ｃ４７ Ｈ８０Ｏ１５，分子量８８４。该抗生素对革兰氏阳性细菌和分枝杆菌有较强的抑制作用，对艾美耳氏球虫引起的鸡球虫病有很好的防治作用和促生长作用
