电视剧在我国由微至盛,30多年来已成为目前影响最大、受众最多、传播最广并在众多文艺门类中处于引领地位的艺术样式。但电视剧质量和收视率的关系问题在编剧环节仍有待进一步廓清和探析。2011年11月,在河南郑州召开的中国电视剧首届编剧论坛上,浙江省广播电视集团总编辑、浙江省视协主席程蔚东的这篇主题演讲,且问且答了当今我国电视剧的需求,重申了编剧要为当代观众创作有思想发现和审美发现并赢得高收视率之精品的观点。演讲引典喻今,意趣中见哲理,潇洒间露精神,在会上及会后引起很大反响。程蔚东在20世纪90年代书写中国精神的三部长篇剧《中国神火》、《中国商人》、《中国空姐》时追求的思想发现和审美发现,依然是他现在作为剧作者所向往的境界;他三次获五个一工程奖,多次获飞天奖、金鹰奖,获全国电视艺术突出贡献奖,荣获全国首届百家电视艺术工作者、全国十大观众喜爱的电视艺术家等称号,被广电总局推选为中国电视艺术“60年60人”有突出贡献艺术家,皆印证了时代给予他的肯定;他的10卷本《程蔚东剧作选》记录了他伴随我国影视文学发展的创作历程,成为研究我国当代电视剧的文学语言与电视表达的范本。近年来,他监制《新亮剑》,总策划《中国1921》,并正在紧抓向党的十八大献礼剧《创业年代》的创制。在我国目前的电视剧行业,如此的专家型领导,无出其右者。
