党的先进性问题是建设一个什么样的党、怎样建设党的核心问题。在全党开展先进性教育活动,是党中央借鉴历史经验、根据新形势、新任务以及党员队伍状况、审时度势、深思熟虑作出的加强党的建设的重大决策,是坚持用“三个代表”重要思想武装全党、使我们党永葆先进性的重要基础建设,是充分发挥共产党员先锋模范作用,实现全面建设小康社会宏伟目标、构建社会主义和谐社会的重要战略举措,是巩固党的执政基础、提高党的执政能力、推进党的建设新的伟大工程的重要途径,为广大党员和人民群众所期盼。
