黄巷是在有里坊制度“活化石”之称的福州三坊七巷中,最古老的一条巷子。黄巷因晋代永嘉年间“衣冠南渡”时,有黄姓人家迁居于巷内而得名。而福州黄巷26号的小黄楼,最初则得名于曾在此“躲进小楼成一统”的唐代进士、崇文阁校书郎黄璞。小黄楼现存的主体建筑在清代道光年间由当时的学者、政治家梁章钜修葺,占地约3300平方米。
