以文学历史的还原为根本指向,王秀臣的新著《礼仪与兴象——〈礼记〉元文学理论形态研究》从“礼仪”与“兴象”入手,既考察了中国早期文学的具体形态,细致而完整地揭示出中国文学的发生与礼仪之间的关系;又从诗、乐、舞、礼辞等仪式文学现象中,把握古人的文学观念,由此实现了对比兴、诗味、诗言志、诗缘情等重要的文学理论历史解读。不仅为当下的中国古代文学研究领域提供了富有意义的启发,同时也会深化学界对礼乐文明的认识。而对本书中的一些问题进行质疑和辨析,也将有助于人们从一般意义上理解中国文学整体。某种程度上有助于对中国文学整体提出一般意义上的理解。
