我到新华社来参加国内工作会还是第一次。新华社是一个有着光荣传统的新闻机构,有一支非常强大的、素质较高的新闻工作队伍。在几十年中,为中国的革命事业,为我们的社会主义建设,为改革开放做出了非常重要的贡献,也培养了很多很多的人才。在去年那场风波当中,绝大多数地方分社表现都非常好,受到了表扬。当然,在此期间也有若干经验教训。搞新闻工作要想完全不出错,是根本不可能的。新闻工作的特点决定了每天都得表态,不象搞别的工作,如果对事情一下子看不清楚,可以先研究研究,三天以后表示一个非常鲜明的态度,谁也不觉得他有错误。但是新闻单位就难办,就不能等我想三天再表态。
