我是在党的教育下成长的。我认识到,自己只有而且必须到艰苦的环境中去磨炼自己,和工农群众打成一片,才能成为一个对社会、对人民有用之才。因此,我高中毕业后,尽管成绩良好,但还是放弃了考大学的机会,积极响应党和祖国的号召,到边疆去,到农村去,到祖国最需要的地方去。1964年9月15日,我从上海支边来到新疆兵团农四师七十一团。当时,我向团长请求,把我分到最艰苦的连队去。组织上同意了我的请求,把我安排到离团部45公里远的七连,一干就是20年,干了18年统计,当了两年连长。在连队,我积极参加共青团组
