At the age of 15, Whistler, a love-drawing youngster, was expelled from West Point. Later, he got a job in the Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, dealing with the map all day long. Soon, boss Charles assigned him to draw a bridge in Chicago. Half a month later he handed over artwork, turned out to be a map of the stone bridge covered with moss, there are a few children playing in the above, even the orientation of the bridge are not marked. A week later, Whistler handed over artwork. Although he had removed both the child and the moss from the bridge, he moved the child to the shore and added several mulberry trees to the shore.
