When we conducted a survey of the seabed topography and sediment in the southern part of the Taiwan Strait in 1975, we found that: 1. Taiwan’s shallow shoal developed a group of underwater sand dunes. 2. The continental shelf topography is under the influence of the modern environment and is undergoing further remodeling processes of erosion, erosion and accumulation. 3. A huge landslide occurred on the edge of the shelf. This is due to the serious lack of terrestrial supplies and the continuous differentiation of sediments under the influence of storms and various streams. Coupled with the submarine earthquakes of magnitude 5-7 occurred many times since 1938, landslides and landslides Promote the sediment transport to the deep water, accelerate the erosion of shelf terrain.
