1842年8月,曾在虎门焚毁鸦片、弘扬了民族志气的林则徐,因受谗言所害,被迫踏上发配伊犁的苦难之途。十多天后,清廷全权代表耆英、伊里布在英舰“汉华丽”号上签订了丧权辱国的中英江宁条约(南京条约),位于珠江口的香港,自此割让给英国。远在边陲的林则徐无限悲痛,香港自此始终游离在他的梦里。143年后,一份关于1997年香港回归祖国的法律文献——《中英联合
In August 1842, Lin Zexu, who had burned opium at Humen and carried forward his national aspirations, was forced to embark on the road to miscarriage and peace of Yili by his persecution. More than a dozen days later, Ching Ying, the sole representative of the Qing court, signed the Sino-British Jiangning Treaty (Nanjing Treaty), a humiliating and degrading treaty, on the British ship “Han Wah Lai ”. It was ceded to Hong Kong at the mouth of the Pearl River since then. Lin Ze-hsiung, far from the border, has infinite grief and since then Hong Kong has always been free from his dreams. After 143 years, a legal document on Hong Kong’s return to the motherland in 1997- “Sino-British coalition.”
