第四届全国岩石破碎学术讨论会，已于1989年11月6日—10日在四川省成都市召开。会议由八个学会联合发起，他们是中国岩石力学与工程学会，中国金属学会采矿学会、四川省地质学会、中国土木工程学会隧道及地下工程学会、四川省硅酸盐学会、四川省金属学会、四川省有色金属学会和四川省公路学会。到会代表129名，来自冶金、地质、煤炭、建材、中科院、铁道、石油、交通、水电、有色及东北工学院等院校系统，是近几届会议以来的一次规模较大的盛会。
The Fourth National Rock Crushing Symposium was held on November 6-10, 1989 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The conference was jointly sponsored by eight societies, namely, China Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering, Institute of Mining of Chinese Society of Metals, Sichuan Geological Society, Chinese Academy of Engineering Tunnels and Underground Engineering, Sichuan Silicate Society, Sichuan Institute of Metals, Sichuan Nonferrous Metals Society and Sichuan Provincial Highway Society. The 129 delegates will come from metallurgy, geology, coal, building materials, Chinese Academy of Sciences, railway, petroleum, transportation, hydropower, nonferrous metals and Northeast Institute of Technology and other academic institutions. This is a grand event since the recent sessions.
